The right ingredients and some flair are needed to convert former south Wales bake house

ARE you a fan of TV’s Great British Bake Off? Then how about investing in your very own bake house?

You won’t need to have loads of bread but will perhaps have to have more than a large pinch of imagination to turn the shell of the historic building into a creation of which to be proud.

A former bake house, in the heart of a popular residential area near Bridgend, in Mid Glamorgan, is being sold at auction this month(April) by Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions.

The substantial, stone-built, bake house, at Garn Road, Maesteg, is listed with a guide price of Just £16,000-plus.

Debra Bisley, who is selling the property for Paul Fosh Auctions said: “The dilapidated property is located in the primarily residential and desirable area of Maesteg.

“The detached property was formerly used as a bake house but is now rather like a crust, or outer shell of a building with no filling but it does appear to have a firm base. It currently loosely comprises of a garage to the ground floor with an open space to the first floor.

“The property could allow for further development, subject to the relevant planning consent and the new owner having a recipe, the wherewithal and all the right ingredients for success.”

The former bake house along with 80 other properties will be offered for sale online in the Paul Fosh Auctions sale which starts at noon, on Tuesday, April 12 and ends from 5pm, on Thursday, April 14.
